Tabakiera Poland/USA (Sacred Circle) These notes ©2017, Andrew Carnie. I learned this dance from Harvey Gardner. It's part of the sacred circle dance tradition found through out the world. The music is Goran Bregovič and Kayah singing a tango. The dance was choreographed by Wilson Liepnitz. There is an Israeli/Greek dance of the same name choreographed by Motti Kotzer. This one is completely different. Music : Kayah and Bregovič Tabakiera Meter : 2/4 (Tango) Formation : Closed circle hands in W position Introduction: Wait through the slow singing, then the violin plays two bars, and the singer starts. Start the preparatory bar right as the singer starts Preparatory bar: Step on R foot and Jetté L foot forward and out to the left (1) bring L around behind R (2) Bar 1: Step on L behind R (1), Step on R to R (2) Bar 2: Cross L in front of R (1), pause (2) Bar 3: Step R, L  in LOD (1,2) Bar 4: Step on R facing center (1), pause (2) Bar 5: Facing Cross L over R (1), Rock back in place ...

Winds on the Tor England These note ©2017, Andrew Carnie. This is a modern Sacred Circle dance from the Galstonbury Circle group. The original notes have the following description: The Tor on Glastonbury Hill is where  Joseph of Aramatia, the uncle of Jesus, was thought to have brought the chalice and the spear after the crucifixion. The Well and the Hill are thought by many to be the place where  the veils parted most between the worlds of wonder and the mundane. In any rate, a sacred height for centuries, even millennia!  And the wind, she still blows across the grasses there. Music : Rawlin's Cross, The Wedding Gift ( https://youtu.be/BqM8oadha0s ).
