Razvrâštanata (Dick Crum's Version) Разврьштаната Bulgaria These notes ©2018, Andrew Carnie. This version of the dance is essentially Dick Crum's version as retaught by Michael Ginsburg. The dance is a variation on a Četvorno Horo from the town of Elin Pelin. There is a different version of this dance taught by Daniela Ivanova. Music : Bruno 50207  Folklore Dances of Bulgaria XOPO X-320-A or any Četvorno tune Meter : 7/8 counted as SQQ Formation : Open circle, hands down in V position or belt hold, leads to the R Introduction : At the beginning of any musical phrase. The dance is leader called. Part 1: (Na Mesto) Not all versions of the dance include this step Bar 1: Facing center, step on R to R (S), close L next to R with a bounce, (Q), bounce again  on both feet (Q) Bar 2: Repeat bar 1 with opposite footwork and direction Bars 3-8: repeat bars 1-2, three more times. Barjače (Atana's Version) Барјаче  Macedonia These notes ©2018, Andrew Carnie. This dance is a variation on the Pušteno/ Berance/ Bajrače/ Barjače/ Levendikos family of dances. It is a choreography by Atanas Kolarovski. Music : AK-003;  FM11-6; FM26-22 Meter : 12/8, which is parsed as SQQSQ (1,2,3)(4,5)(6,7)(8,9,10),(11,12) but at many points the two Qs are taken together as an even longer slow count. Formation : Open circle, hands in W position. Leads to the righ. Introduction : Start at the beginning of any musical phrase. Part 1: Bar 1: Čukče on L foot, lifting right knee (1,2,3 - S). Taught in the USA by Dick Crum in the early 1950s. It is based on a choreography by the Kolo Ensemble. There are actually many different Valle E Gajdës dance types, some which are effectively what would be called a Teskoto in Macedonian. This dance was done at weddings by all the married couples at the party, including the bride and groom. This version is fairly unique since it's done to a recording on the Jaw Harp (Jew's harp). Hilferink learned the dance from Teodor Vasilescu and V. Vladimirescu. The dance is from the region of Giudega.
